Express Motors have, in recent years, been running this splendid ex-Southdown Bristol VR on a seasonal service [as part of the Snowdon Sherpa network] linking the Ffestiniog Railway at Porthmadog with its sister the Welsh Highland Railway at Rhyd Ddu [at the foot of Snowdon]. Times for 2007 may be found here: http://www.walking.visitwales.com/upload/pdf/S96_open_topper_April07.pdf For walkers or rail enthusiasts it's an important link. For the casual tripper wanting to see the scenery, the route can't be recommended too highly. This view shows the bus returning to Porthmadog with Rhyd Ddu ascent and Snowdon summit visible behind.
