Inside the building that housed the boilers and stamps for crushing tin ore at the Prince of Wales Shaft of the Phoenix United Mine. The sinking of this shaft was an unsuccessful attempt to re-open what had been the largest tin producer in east Cornwall, and dates from 1907.
