The sign is surmounted by the Prince of Wales’s feathers and a crown, with the date 29th July 1981, marking the Royal marriage. A team of Suffolk Punches drawing a plough across a grassy field with the church of St Peter and St Paul in the background. Immediately below on the post in his own plaque is St Peter holding the key to the Pearly Gates. Before Christianity arrived in Pettistree, it is believed that people worshipped an ancient tree which was sacred to Odin. With the coming of Missionaries from Rome, the tree was dedicated to St Peter and St Paul, later, a church and parish was established and St Peter's Tree became Pettistree. https://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/6775441
