The River Dane seen from the Trent & Mersey Canal towpath, Davenham. Although the Dane parallels the canal for much of the way between Middlewich and Northwich its valley is often well wooded and the towpath walker or canal cruiser will only get glimpses of the river down below the canal in the 'Amazon jungle'. Unfortunately there is no public access to the river valley.
