A once common breed of cattle in Britain, but rarely seen nowadays. The Longhorn is a very ancient breed and was used for ploughing as well as for milk and meat. It was very popular and by 1800 was the most common breed in the country. However, its popularity declined and a breed called the shorthorn replaced it. http://www.longhorncattlesociety.com/
