Whitelands Bridge carries the B6170 road over the start of the Huddersfield Narrow Canal at Whitelands Basin, Ashton-under-Lyne. The basin is the eastern terminus of the Ashton Canal which linked Ashton and Manchester. The tunnel to the right of the bridge was for the horses which towed the narrow boats.
