Swanage: a stand for two taxicabs

This little square is set between the High Street the seafront, and has several benches, one of which I am sat on as I take this photo. As it is set back a little from the road, I thought this old stone was just placed here as a vintage relic, but I looked behind me and, sure enough, the roadside here is marked out for taxis. The initials SUDC stand for Swanage Urban District Council, which was subsumed into the present-day Purbeck District Council in 1974.
