There were several shallow dusty hollows between the crop and the fence at the edge of the field. None of them were close to rabbit or other burrows. I startled several pheasants on my walk around the Hill of Cleftbog, so I speculate that these hollows were made by pheasants, perhaps taking a dust bath. There is a mark in this one that might have been made by a pheasant's foot. Alternative hypotheses, or confirmation of my thoughts, will be welcome.
