View eastward, towards Haymarket and Waverley (Edinburgh), with on the left the tracks of the Corstorphine branch (closed 1/1/68), on which Balgreen Halt was located. The locomotive is a Gresley A3 Pacific, but an oddity in being one of the very few engines numbered for a while after Nationalization with an 'E' prefix. It is No. E99 'Call Boy', built 4/30 as No. 2795, became BR No. 60099 and was withdrawn 10/63.
