The crossed post horns represent the Scole Inn (formerly The White Hart), having been built in 1655 it is the oldest building in the parish. The eagle’s head represents the Romans who built the road to Venta Icenorum, beside which the village was established. The crest on the left is that of the Cornwallis family and on the right is that of the Shelton family. Below the post horns there is the cross of St. Andrew who is the patron saint of the church which was pertly rebuilt after a fire in the 1960s. https://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/4419660
