Mill Green Road, Haywards Heath

The road predates the town and linked the common to a mill that lay beyond a bridge of Scrase Stream. The arrival of the railway in 1841 diverted the road and removed the old bridge which was located somewhere beneath the current embankment to the left. The houses on the right were built in the 1890s.
