Harlequin Duck (Histrionicus histrionicus) on the River Don below Seaton Park, Aberdeen

This duck, a first-winter male, has been on the river for the last three months. It is a very rare visitor to Britain, with the nearest breeding populations in Iceland. It has attracted a steady stream of birdwatchers to the area during its stay.
