This pub was originally the Golden Lion, but over the years earned the diminutive nickname "Brass Cat", and by the 1980s that was its advertised name which it still bore as late as 2009 Image Now the lion reference has gone but the feline has acquired musical tastes. it is now a "sports bar, lounge, grill and kitchen" rather than a traditional pub. Subsequent note: it was closed and boarded up when I passed in February 2021.
