Young lambs on the horizon, grazing in the warmth of the setting sun on this pasture overlooking Morecambe bay. The soil is very red here, containing many small stones left over as the glacier retreated from the Lake District in the north. A kilometre or so to the west is a farm named Red Bank, after the red soil bank against which it nestles right on the shore line.
