The stretch of canal between Otley Road and Victoria Street is dominated by the long frontage and covered loading bays of the series of warehouses at Wharf Street. These were built incrementally from 1874 onward by the Leeds and Liverpool Canal Company to store wool. In recent years, these warehouses have been converted to a range of commercial uses. This view is from Shipley Bridge (Otley Road) looking in the direction of Saltaire. The series of warehouses is grade II listed (English Heritage Building ID: 337565 http://www.britishlistedbuildings.co.uk/en-337565-canal-warehouse-immediately-west-of-numb British Listed Buildings).
