This poorly disguised Guard House protected Regional General Headquarters 5.1 during the Cold War. The bungalow was meant to camouflage it as a farmhouse however, I have seen buildings of very similar design on RAF bases and military sites all over the country (for evidence see http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vo275Q6XBVI ) . The War Department might as well have put up a sign saying "spys look here!" However it was not really the Russians they wanted to fool. The site was built in 1951 active firstly as a "Rotor" station http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ROTOR and then a regional HQ until 1994
