This is the former Croydon & Oxted Joint line that was originally operated by the South Eastern & Chatham and London Brighton & South Coast railway companies between East Croydon and Oxted. It now carries trains linking London with East Grinstead and Uckfield. The line is about to pass the former Riddlesdown Quarry on the left.
