On the right is a blue plaque put up by Exeter Civic Society to mark the birthplace of Violet Vanbrugh (1867-1942). It describes her and her sister Irene (1872-1949) (born in Heavitree Vicarage) as stars of stage and screen. On the left is Roger Dean's Blitz Memorial, marking the bombing of Exeter in 1942. Behind is the city wall, and shops and apartments in Roman Walk in Princesshay
