A4059 bypasses Aberdare town centre

Through traffic can use this route past Aberdare Bus Station to avoid town centre congestion. The A4059 here uses the trackbed of a dismantled railway. The bus station is on the site of Aberdare Low Level railway station http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/2571066 which closed in 1964.
