Former Youth Hostel at Forest Lodge

This little cottage was the subject of heroic restoration work from a derelict ruin into a simple youth hostel in the early post-war days of the YHA in South Wales. It opened in 1948, but was closed by 1950, as it was required for housing. The dormer windows have replaced the original tiny bedroom windows. There was a different hostel at Forest Lodge before the war; kindly contact if you can shed any light on its location.
