On March 13th 2015, a For Sale/To Let board is on the wall of 1 Dimond Street, which had been a Barclays Bank branch until closure at the end of business on February 27th 2015. The Western Telegraph, reporting the closure news in November 2014, quoted a statement from Barclays "The way customers undertake their banking is changing as people increasingly use online, telephone and mobile devices. In response to this change in customer behaviour we must evolve our business to meet their needs. At the Pembroke Dock branch, customer usage has declined by 20% since 2008 and 68% of customers now regularly use alternative branches, which is why we have taken the difficult decision to close the branch.. The nearest Barclays branch is now in Pembroke, about 2 miles away.
