The church itself was constructed from limestone. The name 'Marble Church' comes from the various types of marble used in constructing some parts of the church, including Aberdeen marble, Belgian red marble and Anglesey marble. The church tower is 62 metres high and is a very prominent landmark when travelling along the A55 expressway.
