The Croft in North Road was built as a family home by a local corn merchant in 1922 and this is how it looked before being refurbished as the community centre for an estate of 68 bungalows for the over-fifties, now almost complete. The property is often wrongly referred to by the developers as “the old manor house” although it has no connection whatsoever with either of Bourne’s two ancient manors.
