This is not a Victorian bandstand as might be assumed. It dates from 2002 and was commissioned by Bromsgrove Borough Council to celebrate H.M. Queen Elizabeth II's Golden Jubilee. It was designed and supplied by Andy Thornton Limited of Elland Yorkshire. On their website they describe it as a decorative period bandstand which was constructed in steel, using decorative columns, sprandrels that feature the official Golden Jubilee emblem and a special crown finial on the roof.
