Superb Georgian building and clock, rather eclipsing the bank and butchers currently using it as shopfronts. It is described by English Heritage as a mid 18th century house converted into shops in the 19th century (http://list.english-heritage.org.uk/resultsingle.aspx?uid=1272385 ). It was the Town House of Sir Joseph Banks, naturalist and explorer. The clock is later, dating from 1889. See also https://www.flickr.com/photos/alansaxman/4870744003/
