This roundabout is so large that it is virtually impossible to stand back far enough to capture it all in one image. To be pedantic it's more of an "ellipseabout" than a roundabout, with a long axis over the grassed area of about 80 metres, aligned with the A1, and short axis of about 55 metres, aligned with the A411. In fact the A411 is the older road, with the A1 only being built and crossing it in the 1930s as the Barnet By-pass.
