The light was right to catch a glimpse of this scoundrel's face. See also Image, Image and Image Update March 2016: The home of the Edlington Pirate has been sold but the pirate is to stay. For 18 years he has presided over the A158, to the amusement of trippers on their way to the coast. He was rescued from the (outgoing) owner's scrapyard, and presumed to have come from an amusement arcade. People wave and sound their horns as they pass. Offers were made by members of the public to buy him when the house came up for sale, but the new owners will not be parting with him. He even underwent a makeover at one point after being vandalised. He has his own "The Edlington Pirate" Facebook page.
