Heavily shaded but unmistakable: former railway goods waggons. The owner was happy to tell me the history. They came from a yard he thinks was near Worksop, in the late 1960's. He saved up to buy them to keep pigs in, they cost about £30 each. The diagram of layout of the pig accommodation is inscribed in the dust on the back window of my car, and includes sheltered areas at the sides for the piglets to get under so that they were safe from being squashed by their mothers. The owner says that although they are now rather ramshackle, he has left them there for sentimental reasons. A worthy subject to photograph!
