Newcomen engine house, Rockley

Dated 1813 and housed a Newcomen atmospheric engine. Drained an iron ore mine. Rockley Furnace is very close by. The bob wall is to the left and the chimney is on the right hand edge. The two square holes almost certainly held wooden bearers for the engine's open topped cylinder
