An oddly-formed set of buildings reflecting a long and varied history http://history.powys.org.uk/history/hay/stjohn1.html . Perhaps originally dating from the 13th Century, rebuilt at various stages, and serving at times as the town's jail and a shop. It is still used today for services and Quaker meetings.
