A large area of this field had been worked with a harrow to loosen the turnips. Lambs for finishing will consume approximately 7.5 kgs of turnips per day and dairy cows up to 22 kgs in a 2-3 hour grazing period, with a lowland ewe consuming about half that amount per day.
