Haughton Green is an ancient locality in South-east Lancashire. In 1894 it merged with neighbouring Denton. The welcome sign by the village green on Haughton Green Road displays the red rose of Lancashire above an image of St Mary's Church and the arms of the township of Haughton and the town of Denton.
