It looks as though this Class 20 got headbutted by an MGR coal hopper (HAA, HBA, etc.), the angle looks just about right. After seeing some of the damage put right by the various depots, this was probably not much more than cosmetic. There can't have been a shortage of Class 20s because this had been standing in this condition since at least 1986, and I guess that it was withdrawn in this condition and used for spares. The Class 20 at the rear is 20156. A rake of hoppers stand on the elevated siding. The large engine shed was to my left. Of note is that fact that nine days later there were 73 locomotives in the yard
