Walls in the fields here were made with the abundant glacial-erratic boulders which used to litter the level floor of the valley. By dragging the boulders to the sides of the fields an instant building resource was created, though the walls have often collapsed or been robbed. Some of the boulders are very large, as seen here with my assistants posing for scale. In the background, the valley slope is occupied by Coed Tan-yr-allt.
