Chester's Art Deco Odeon on Northgate Street was built in 1936 and was visited by Douglas Fairbanks Jnr on its opening night. The Grade Two listed building is undergoing a £37 million development which will transform it into a new cultural centre housing two theatres, a small cinema, a café and bar and a state-of-the-art library.
