Pontarddulais railway station is a single-platform request stop on the Heart of Wales Line in the City and County of Swansea, a few tens of metres east of the River Loughor which here is the Carmarthenshire boundary. Similar to a bus stop, a railway request stop means that a train does not stop here unless you clearly signal to the driver to do so, or a passenger on the train asks the ticket inspector to tell the driver to stop.
