McKane Place and Ladysmill Court

Ladysmill Court is named for a former corn mill which stood slightly to the north where Milton Green now meets Forth Street. John McKane was a wealthy benefactor who had struck it rich in the 'gold rush' of the 19th century. He purchased nearby Ladysmill Park and presented it to Dunfermline Cricket Club, who renamed it in his honour.
