Built as an agricultural labourers cottage for Image in the late 19th century at a time when the only buildings in this area were the former barn and Bridgers Mill which stood roughly on the spot of the junction between Burrell Road and Balcombe Road. The building on the right is the rear of Image The section of the road in view was added after the demolition of the mill in the mid 1960s allowing two way access to a light industrial estate.
