A drinking fountain on the front of Mottram Court House Image commemorates the installation of a piped water supply in 1888. The plaque reads: IN COMMEMORATION OF THE introduction of a supply of water this fountain was presented to the Village of Mottram by EDWARD CHAPMAN ESQ J.P. OF HILL END in this Parish July 23rd 1888.
