Hampstead Cemetery was consecrated by the Bishop of London and opened in November 1876. It is 26 acres and is designed in the Egyptian style. The Bianchi monument dates from the 1930s and commemorates the early death of the opera singer wife of an Italian restaurateur. On the left is a scene of the Bianchi family sitting on a bench and cradling their infant son.
