The location of this monument is shown in Image and Image The inscription is a "pome" attributed to Archdeacon Nares in 1818: AMWELL. Perpetual be thy Stream. Nor e'er thy Spring be lefs Which thousands drink, who never dream Whence flows the boon they blefs. Too often thus ungrateful man Blind and unconscious lives, Enjoys kind Heavn's indulgent plan, Nor thinks of Him who gives.
