This is a southern end of a footpath that connects the driveway into the national park car park (behind the viewpoint and near the village centre) with another footpath (ahead at the gate into Bottoms Lane). The footpath ahead connects Malton Gate (right at the gate into Bottoms Lane) with Longlands Lane (left at the gate, into Image and some 750metres distant). Some metres behind the viewpoint the path is joined by another Image that connects with a more easterly part of Image The house on the right is one of a small housing development built around Heron Close and is separated from the woodland by one of water courses for Thornton Beck. This footpath runs parallel with Image
