Now a farm track over this section, this is the route of the Kelvedon and Tollesbury Light Railway. Worked by the Great Eastern Railway and its successors, it closed to passengers in 1951. Freight as far as Tiptree hung on until 1962, largely because of Tiptree's fruit and jam trade.
