The event was held at Omagh Library in association with Headhunters Museum, Enniskillen and was well attended The closure of the line was 50 years ago, and I can remember exactly where I was when the last train pulled out from Omagh Railway Station. I was serving petrol at John McGale's garage along James Street, which was directly opposite the avenue leading to the station and my pay there for the four hours work in the evening was 7s-6d. I heard detenators being fired off on the line to mark the sad event.
