Originally called Rosemary Lane (hence its name in Welsh), it had obtained its current name by the early 19th century. The building on the corner is Georgian and is grade II listed - see http://historicwales.gov.uk/files/pdf-listed-building.php?ids=27062&lang=ENG. Beyond it is Llyfrau Ystwyth/Ystwyth Books, a large (mainly) second hand bookshop.
