With the library behind the photographer this view includes the rooftops of some of the buildings in the former Castle Brewery (a.k.a. Hole's Brewery). The Italianate tower sits atop the former 'main office block', the main entrance to which is on Albert Street and the roof/s of some of the former processing buildings behind several tall houses. The single-storey pavilion, dating from 1953, seems likely to be associated with the bowling green behind the hedge at the front of this picture, although not signposted as being linked to it.
