As I left Knabbymoss, these two trailers were arriving in the field. The smaller one contained twelve calves, and the large one just entering the gate contained their mothers, four each in three internal compartments. They are transported separately to prevent the calves being injured by the heavier adult cows en route. They soon rejoined one another once they were released. This was the calves' first ever taste of the freedom of the great outdoors.
