Boxmoor: The former Swan Inn

This public house on London Road survived to about 2010 before succumbing to the fall-off in pub trade. It has been an antiques shop since 2011 and the shop's website is here http://www.swanantiquesboxmoor.com/ The building dates back to 1690 and is Grade II Listed. The English Heritage website describes it thus:- "C18. Painted brick and stucco, old tiled hipped roof with eaves cornice. L plan, 2 storeys. 3 light casement window and canted sashed bay on left, small similar bay to projecting wing on right. Wooden porch in angle. Sash window to 1st floor on right. Glazing bars to all windows."
