This postbox is of the 1970 'Type G' square design and features two boxes sharing a common hood. It is painted gold to celebrate the gold medal won by Laura Trott at the London 2012 Olympics - she has two gold boxes marking her two gold medals. The postbox stands outside what was the post office until it recently moved around the corner. See Image for a close-up of the plaque on the left-hand side of the box, and Image for Laura's other gold box.
