St James's dates mainly from the 12th & early 16th century, and is situated next to parkland on the southern fringe of Sheffield. The famous sculptor Sir Francis Chantrey is buried here, as well as the parents of the two bishops Blythe, whose alabaster tomb of c1500 is said to have inspired Chantrey's love of sculpture.
